The night before, it was time to throw things together. They looked good on paper, but who knew how it would actually turn out. Thriller had asked that it be related to 26 since it was my first Q in the new year. So I obliged and the reps were 26. I tried to make the amount of exercises a multiple of 7, but that may not have actually worked out given the modifications and time running short.
We all got there and were ready to go by about the start time. So we moved forward. I can say that I wanted to do the running around Hoppa’s Yard, but some ladies pulled up and walked right into and around it. So I was going to leave them be. So instead the running would have to be around the parking lot. It would have to do. We started with the instance reps and boy does being congested and saying counts not go together. I was out of breath a lot more than I would have liked. But in the end, it worked out. The biggest marvel was the 26 in cadence Merkins. Man, I could barely breathe by the end of that. I could tell that it tired out several of the PAX as well. But there was more to come, so we continued. Due to the combination of congestion and lack of oxygen, there were almost no “alrighty”s said.
Once the warmup was over, we went to the picnic tables. There we were going to do 3 rounds of 3 exercises which were 26 reps each. Well, the 1st 3 were all Merkins. I quickly realized that what looked good in my delerium the night before was not practical the day of. So I had to quickly ausible it to a single round and then move to the next set of exercises which we did 1 round of each. Then one of the PAX let me know that the ladies were no longer on Hoppa’s Yard, but by now I was committed to the parking lot. So on we went around the parking lot and then to 4 Corners. There we Audibled again from doing the same exercise 26 times at each corner to just 26 times at 1 corner with the exercise changing each time. Then thankfully, time ran out. We were done and did not have to deal with the exercises anymore. It was a final blessing to all. Thus we were able to escape with minimal lasting effects, or so I hope.
