It was a nice morning. It was a bit nippy, but not too bad. It warmed up 10 degrees from yesterday which was appreciated. I got there a tad shy of the start and got setup. Today was another run day. You say that run days are only Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday? Well, no matter. The rules have changed. You say Yogi did something similar Monday? Yes he did and I, as all great minds do, pulled from a source of inspiration for this workout. It was pretty similar. I just put my own spin on. But as Michael Scott once said “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Well, let’s focus on the workout from here.
The workout started with the classic SSHs, but soon went haywire. It was supposed to be 14, but the count got lost to the point where there is no reall recovering the number. This was the beginning of the hiccups. But we persevered a d finished the warmup and started to Mosey. We did exercise after exercise. Initially, the idea was to do an exercise at every light pole, but there was not enough time or exercises listed for that, so I started to pick and choose which ones to do the exercise at. Then you may notice that there are 2 14s and 28s side by side. Well, that was caused by me accidentally skipping an exercise. So we had to audible a little there to get on track. On the way back out of the Grove, there was a sign that I jumped to try and hit and I missed that as well. Then once we were done with the exercises Big Worm let me know we were at 1.93ish miles. I was just going to let it slide and so we did the Gravity Stretch. Bug then the people spoke and kept pointing out how we were shy of 2 miles. So I did the only logical move: give in to the peer pressure (definitely not OCD…) and take a lap around Hoppa’s Yard. Well, now we were over 2 miles, but not at exactly 2. But sometimes you just have to cover your eyes and tell yourself “Out of sight, out of mind.” And thus were the many hiccups of today’s workout.
All in all, I think everyone stayed warm, we avoided the dreaded 26 Burpees Countdown, and had a decent time doing so. Thank you for coming and allowing me to lead.
