MOLESKIN:

I was surprised that today’s date was open, but glad to get another opportunity to Q before the end of the year. After some pleasantries with Speedwalker who abandoned us yet again after a pre-Bootcamp run, and getting reacquainted with Gizmo, it was time to start. Everyone was really excited for some hairburners and murder bunnies…fortunately, a rogue car helped move us along up the hill faster than anticipated. Gizmo helped relieve me of one of my spare blocks and turned it into a great photo prop. At least the back of my car won’t sag quite as much as usual. Our mini evolution became a mini-mini evolution when I began to think about the amount of time we had left. Congrats to our winners of the plank challenge and to the grit of Spirit Fingers who refused to take any Burpees gifted from Sharpie. BTW, though I invited my entire cast to join us this morning…none did. I’m guessing I came on a little too strong when I told them the forecast had a 100% chance of pain…go figure.

Earlier in the year, I was challenged to transform a Robert Frost poem into F3 symbolism. Since we’re now in the winter season (evidenced by these blustery Christmas days in the 70s), I’ve been thinking of another Frost poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Being officially on vacation now, I get the poem’s description of the struggle we all have to balance obligations with the temptation to rest or escape. Here’s the F3 version:

Whose weinkes these are I think I know.

The workout is in his iphone though;

The PAX won’t see me laughing here

To watch them murder bunny to and fro.

The cars passing by must think it queer

To see us bear crawling far and near

Between the blocks and hairburners that bake

The warmest winter morning of the year.

I give my watch a little shake

To see if there is some mistake.

The only other sound’s a flutter

Likely my heart about to break.

The gloom is lovely, dark and deep,

But I have workout goals to keep,

And burpees to go before I sleep,

And burpees to go before I sleep.

Thanks for letting me lead you today brothers!
