Bear (Market) Crawls

Friday’s sell off pushed the Nasdaq into a bear market.

We want upward movement in the market…so we’re going to bring these bear (market) crawls up Rumble hill!

BTW, if you want steady wealth building, you really need to consider a Dividend Reinvestment Plan…if you stop…reinvest with 2 burpees and start back when you are ready and keep that growth going!

Mosey to back of school

Buy the Dips 11s (OMAHA)

Navy Seal Burpees (Burpee, Merkin x 3 w/ knee tuck on 1st 2)/Dips

*Full disclosure…this was a terrible idea and those Navy Seal Burpees were no joke. This could have been half the workout, so I had to quickly call a change.

Change to 10/5 5/10. We’ll see you again sometime Navy Seal Burpees!

Mosey Launchpad

Time IN the Market is more important than Timing the Market

We’re going to see who can hold their stock (plank) the longest.

Low Plank (strict)

If everyone lasts 5 minutes = no burpees

OR:

Winner: No burpees

2nd Place = 10 Burpees

3rd Place = 15 Burpees

Everyone Else = 20 Burpees

Well, we were all pathetic at this point in the workout. We were far from 5 minutes, there were high planks happening, people dropping out…so we all did a number of burpees.

*Wait…is that Flo coming to join us for the last 5 minutes of the workout?!

No matter what happens with the economy, life goes on and we gotta put on our Big Boy pants and just keep moving forward…SO…

MOLESKIN:

As mentioned in my preblast, since it has been such a tariff-ic week, there would be bear (market) crawls. Spirit Fingers was hoping I’d have more financial-based puns…which I didn’t, but it did provide a challenge: could I learn a few financial terms and somehow prepare a workout based on them in less than 12 hours? I always love a good challenge, even if my strengths do not lie in finance. My skills with the quill are undeniable, but can I be reliable with this task? If nothing else, we all had some good discussions, I learned a little bit more (what type of good doctor ISN’T a lifetime learner anyways?), oh, and we got our heart rates trending indirectly with the stock market. With all the uncertainty in life, this week was no different, but we did end COT with a prayer to the Sky Q, because we CAN be certain that God is in control and is unchanging.

I’ll leave you with another poem, in its original form this time. Warren Buffet reminds us to remember these words from Rudyard Kipling’s well known poem, “If”, in times of market volatility.

If you can keep your head when all about you

    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

    But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

    And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

    And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

    To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

    If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

    And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Thanks for letting me lead you today brothers! SYITG!
