It was a nice morning when I got up. But then it dawned on me that it was raining. I had forgotten to check the weather before planning the workout last night. Oh well. It is what it is. So I drove to the AO and it looked pretty deserted. So I was not expecting too many PAX. I immediately called for everyone to get under the picnic tables and we got down to business. We started the warmup and things went well. The problems started with doing Box Cutters and then Hello Dollies. My abs were on fire. Well, I think I was not alone in that. But then came Merkins and Burpees. And oh boy were my arms on fire for this. I am sure some of the other PAX were wondering if I was crazy. The rest of the warmup was not too bad. Unfortunately, we had limited mobility due to the rain, so we ended up doing the Power of 4 from under the picnic table shelter and on the soft surface. In the background, if you listened really closely, you could possibly hear “The Power of One. The Power of Two. But unlike the flop that was the Acolyte, we actually got something valuable out of the Power of 4, at least I hope we did. The exercise count is 4^0, 4^1, 4^2, and 4^3. Hence the name Power of 4. In the workout, after we did Merkins, I decided I just had to ask if the PAX wanted to do Burpees next. Well, the answer I got was a resounding no. I was happy to hear that because I did not want to do it either. So we continued on until we got to the end and got some phantoms and ghouls in the background of the image just over a month before Halloween.
