Twas the night before the workout and the mind was not working. So I looked at the fact it was 2024, I am 24, and the day that the workout is is the 24th. So there are 3 24s. So that means we have 24 cubed. The problem with that is that we either have to do 6 of everything for the 6 sides of a cube or do 24^3 exercises. I was not too interested in either, so I opted for the idea of 3. “Always 3 there are. A master and an apprentice and another apprentice.” – This is definitely what Yoda said… So you know what, a triangle has 3 sides. That sounds good. Now let’s plan this the morning of. So I went to bed.
The next morning comes around and the problem of coming up with a workout begins. But as one does, I had my best time to think that morning: I was on the porcelain throne. It was time to create my masterpiece. So things started falling into place. We would do 3 stations. Each warmup exercise would be 18 which is 180 divided by 10. Why 180? Well, that is the number of degrees of the angles of a triangle. Last Saturday was the murph attempt, so why not throw in a miniature murph. So Smurphette was added. Then it was on to the last part which was meant to be stupid. And boy was it. 30, 60, 90. The angles of a right triangle. They were fun, but they thankfully are now over. Once I had finished planning, I was done with my best thinking and needed to rush to Scrooge to lead the workout.
I got to Scrooge and we began the workout. Things progressed smoothly. The first part was not too bad. The worst being either my cadence or the Burpees at the end. When we were doing the second station, I heard several statements of mistakes were made. This made me believe that while I was suffering through the station, it was definitely worth planning this way. The last and most treacherous station arrived. We began and it went smoothly for the first 30 reps. Then I announced the next thing and Big Worm made a comment along the lines of “are you serious?” I just laughed it off and we continued. Now, it may have been a mistake to do so many of the same ab exercises back to back, but no one said I thought through my exercises. They were just enough to make everything in my thighs and abs burn. So all in all, it was worth it to get the reaction out of Big Worm. Fortunately… Umm I mean unfortunately, we ran out of time before making it to the next set of 30, 60, 90, but we will forever remember and cherish it in our hearts.
