Moleskin:

It was a comparatively cool morning this morning. It was a great morning to get out and stretch our legs. So we did many reps for the legs. The warmup started with 24 reps and then there were 2 12 rep and 4 6 rep exercises for the warmup. Once that was through we started on half measures. If you have seen the show Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, the idea of a half measure is not doing things to the fullest and completing them all the way which can cause problems down the line. Now you may be wondering, how is that relevant to doing 96 reps, then 48, and then 24, etc. Well, that is because they are each one half of the previous count. On top of that, it is simpler than Gov’nah’s 15 Burpees 4 Bear Crawl, then 14, then 13, etc. pattern which would have kept us there all day. Now some may have already noticed the oddity of 3 going to 1. They might say that 1 is not half of 3. That is correct. But no one said we we were doing this without an applied floor function (always round down/only count the whole number part of the result). Thus we get it to work as our “half” measure. I could hear the mentions of things being stupid after the first couple sets of Squats. Then came the Bonny Blairs and boy oh boy did people think that was stupid. At first I thought the two count for it would work. But after getting 70 singles in, I could really tell that everyone just needed to do 96 total instead of 192 total. It was definitely not because I was starting to feel it and thought that maybe the complaints about the two count call were valid… Thus we swapped over to a single count. That first set of 96 was a bit odd, but the rest worked just fine. After that, we were pretty much out of time, so the remaining half measures and half deads were put to rest. Thus we got to complete the workout. The count being close to 100 is thanks to Boucher’s Q from Saturday that I went to Rumble to avoid.

All in all, thanks for coming out and doing leg day. Never skip leg day. Come out on Friday morning to find out a little about yielding to the Spirit. Psalm 42:1 “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
