Moleskin:

Last night was odd. I was watching some light hearted shows when I was writing up the winky. The plan was to do something around 25. Well, 25 reps is too many for most in cadence exercises and it is a hassle to do all reps that way. So why not divide by 5. Now we can just use multiples of 5. That seems to be the best course of action. Well, how about 4 Corners for the start and 5 Corners for the actual exercises. So 5 Corners was born. Now you may be tempted to ask “Web, what is 5 Corners?”. To that I respond in the modern addage: https://youtu.be/XOi2jFIhZhA?si=LiDxl5052SRFWw33https://youtu.be/XOi2jFIhZhA?si=LiDxl5052SRFWw33https://youtu.be/XOi2jFIhZhA?si=LiDxl5052SRFWw33

But in all seriousness, in 5 Corners, we start at 1 corner and Mosey to all of the others. You do all of the previous exercises at each corner until you hit corner 5. After that one, it resets. So you would end up doing 5 Burpees at corner 1, then 5 Burpees and 10 Gas Pumpers at corner 2 for the first set, etc. Now one of the corners was where the sidewalk ends after running behind the school from the right side. Now for those who have noticed, that location is not actually a corner. But do I care? Not one bit. It was a necessary evil to make the numbers work… Now onto this morning.

It was a little rainy for the preworkout run, but nothing too bad (just a little lonely…). There were several ruckers and Yogi even murphed at Scrooge before coming to find out about 5 Corners. It was great to have everyone. Sadly Nova, Collection Plate, and Sharpie could not stay for the workout. But I am sure they enjoyed the ruck. Early on in the warmup, Schnitzel explained that whenever I say “Alrighty” some people do a Squat. But it did not seem to extend beyond him this morning. I felt a little bad about how many Squats I was making him do by saying “Alrighty” so much that I stopped saying it about halfway in (it definitely was not because I was too tired and wanted to go back in time to talk some sense into the idiot that thought 5 Corners was a great idea). But I digress. During the warmup my brain stopped working for one of the in cadence exercies (Merkins maybe) and I had to do inflection halfway through the last rep’s count (i.e. at 2). But my brain mostly functioned for the remainder of the workout. I was rewarded for my planning by hearing multiple times about how stupid the workout was. The music to my ears was very appreciated. During the workout, we got to lean about the park in Asheboro (the dinosaur park where nature finds a way). We learned that Isaiah does indeed mention unicorns and that there was 1 ice age right after the flood that was not so friendly to the dinosaurs. We also got to learn that Schnitzel had an encounter with a whale shark while scuba diving. I like to phrase it as Schnitzel almost getting eaten by a whale shark. But that is not what happened is what I was told. So we just got the awesome story about how their mouths work as well as Schnitzel’s scuba experience. We did also talk about the Greek Festival last week. Now, you might be wondering, “Web, how come there seems to have been a lot of story telling and conversation going on during your Q?”. And I would say you are right. I was intently listening, I was not trying to recover from the previous corner…

Well, that’s pretty much all I have folks. Thank you for reading this and thank you to everyone that came out this morning. Have a blessed day!
