This morning was a nice morning to sleep in, until about 6:20 that is. You wouldn’t have decided it was a good day to sleep in past th workout time, right? Right? Well with this added rest, I went off to the workout this morning thinking that things would be easy. Well, I thought wrong. But before I could realize this, I got to catch up a little with Bionic. It was great to have him out there this morning. We got to find out that he will be able to join us more frequently now for something like the next 60 days. So that will be some fun. He also mentioned that his arms were sore from a workout yesterday. I made sure to give him my condolences because his arms were going to get worked out even more today. Then we had more people pull in one by one.
By the start of the workout we had 5 PAX, all except Kimchi and Gov’nah. We got to go through the warmup and we all were somewhat sweaty by the end of it. I want to say it was the humidity, but I cannot say for sure. We finished that up and got to 4 Corners. As we were moseying on over, Gov’nah showed up. We found out that he was th sole rumbler this morning, so we helped get him adjusted to not wrestling people to the ground by giving him something else to do with his arms and legs. While we were doing 4 Corners, there were two people playing tennis. Apparently Thriller knew one or more of them and started to give them a little bit of a hard time. They seemed to take it well and give some words back in jest. After we finished our last set on the first thing of 4 Corners, lo and behold a wild Kimchi appeared. He was ready to workout and so he joined the group. Soon you could hear the classic sounds of calling out form and “I don’t see you exercising” or “get back to work”. It was great to hear again in the morning (thanks for coming on out Kimchi!). We also had a drive by showing by Pinto. He must have seen what we were doing and gotten scared and left us as is: :). After we got through the 2nd set of arm burning exercises, we movd on to the anticipated event: wallball. It went well as a whole. We got a lot of reps in. No one missed the wall, but many got out. We started where the person that got out or who failed to get a person out would have to do an exercise, but it eventually became everyone. Thriller made sure to make us not want him touch the ball. He started with 10 2ct. Fluttler Kicks and we got up to 40 or 50. It was pretty brutal. But it was good for us.
If you are wondering where the name comes from, it comes from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Specifically it alludes to the training in this scene: https://youtu.be/peUyLXrgYZ0?si=DHKY3gS0TBLJgnhB. Now you might say the line is “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” I would say mine sounds better. It fits the F3 environment better. Also, I think that Kevin McCallister would approve of this change. Harry and Marv know first hand about this. Anywho, that is essentially the inspiration for the title of the workout since you kind of want to avoid the ball or catch it if not. Unfortunately, no bricks were used today, but when you Q, you can include those if you want. But I guess that is pretty much all folks. Have a blessed day!
