THE THANG:

Who Is Helping You See What You Can’t?

We began by talking about the blind spots in our cars and how many times we have tried to change lanes and almost hit someone. …we’re thankful for the blinking lights on new car side view mirrors.

Exodus 18:13–24

Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good. You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭18‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

  • Jethro doesn’t accuse Moses of being lazy.
  • He doesn’t accuse him of sin.
  • He says, “This isn’t good.”

and this is coming from his father-in-law.

Sometimes our blind spots aren’t sin. , but unhealthy patterns…that if left unchecked could easily lead us to sin.

Questions:
Why do you think Moses couldn’t see this problem?

What are common blind spots for men?

  • Overwork
  • Pride
  • Neglecting family
  • Never resting
  • If I don’t do it, no one will

Who has permission to ask you hard questions?

If someone watched your life this week, what blind spot would they notice before you did?
