Moleskin:

This morning was a bit dark out. The parking lot just had 2 cars in it with 2 minutes to start. Chopper and an FNG get out of the car, so we prepare for the workout. Thriller pulls up and the warm up begins. Then Big Worm comes in. Then a little while later Pinto shows up. What seemed like it was going to be a group of 3 at the start doubled in size. And we had some fun running laps and doing reps. While doing the reps, I found out that I have been doing Monkey Humpers wrong for the last couple of times since I was grabbing my opposite ankle when doing them. The more you know.

Now you may be wondering where the name of the workout comes from. Well, it is as the name suggests: because it is a stretch to say the things referenced were related. When I started planning the workout, I started with the number 25, so I looked for the 25th state to join the Union. I found it to be Arkansas (there was an exercise based on this, but we ran out of time to get to it). I then looked at its fipscode which was “05”. Now that we had that, that reminded me of a Star Wars the Clone Wars clone commando called Fives because his number in the clone army was `CT-27-5555`. Thus we had to incorporate that. So that is where the 25 reps after each lap comes in. That was a modification of the original since I did not want to bear crawl in the cold. But I think as a whole it worked out.

Things you may be wondering about Paddy Whack:

Where does his name come from?

Well, I can’t put the full connection together myself. I can say that the name comes from a nursery rhyme: https://americansongwriter.com/behind-the-knick-knack-paddywhack-ing-nursery-rhyme-this-old-man/.

However I am not sure how Nick Rose turned into that as we were struggling to come up with a nickname. But the guys seemed to like it, Paddy Whack excluded, so could I really say no to that name?

Who brought him?

That would be our man Chopper.

What does he like to do?

He likes writing music and listening to music. That is one reason Axl was suggested. But it did not gain much traction, though it was th runner up.

All in all, it was a grand ol’ time. I hope everyone has a blessed Monday morning! Thanks for reading this dissertation.
