WARMUP:

THE THANG: Leadership

– Define Leadership

– Who has been the biggest influence on your life for good / for bad?

– Who are you influencing?

Micah 6:8 ““He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

‭‭‬

Act Justly:

– Leaders must act with integrity and righteousness.

– This principle is not just about making the right decisions but ensuring that our actions reflect our values and beliefs

– David’s final words: 2 Samuel 23:1–4

Love Mercy:

– Not just show mercy, but love it.

– Delight in compassion.

– True strength is seen in how we forgive, show grace, and extend mercy.

Walk Humbly

– Humility is essential in leadership.

– We must be wary of relying solely on our skills without humility.

– Can’t rely solely on skills without humility.

– The story of Moses gives the dangers of pride in leadership

– Let us strive to lead with humility, recognizing that our influence is a gift, not a right

MOLESKIN:

Thank you for letting me lead you this morning.

Shammah has only two verses in the whole Bible written about him. 2 Samuel 23: 11-12. He’s listed as one of David’s mighty men, yet he was called to defend a patch of lentils. To me lentils are just beans so, he was asked to defend a bean patch.

In my walk and I imagine in yours as well sometimes I am not where I think I should be. I don’t feel like Shammah was really excited to be defending a patch of lentils. But the Bible tells us that God had great victory on that day because of Shammah’s‘s actions.

Let’s defend our bean patch.
