THE THANG:

We had some deep dialogue about forgiveness

Starting with Mark 10:13 – 16 – approach Jesus with a childlike nature – prepared and excited to recieve the inheritance of His kingdom

Followed by three major points, as follows:

1) We must learn to yield to God’s forgiving desire

Matthew 26:26-29 – Jesus poured out his blood ( representing a present status as the result of a past action for our future hope) forgiving our sins

Ephesians 1:7, 18, & 4:32 – the Lords desire for us – formed in bondage for relationship. Walking in a manner worthy of His calling while being reminded to be self-aware and accepting of His forgiveness.

Matthew 6:9-15 – the Lords Prayer helps us lean on Him to Change me, Help me, and to Send me!

Matthew 18: 12-14 – the lost sheep because the one matters

Read a passage out of Lessons from a Carpenter by Michael Brewer – “Jesus Christ is the keystone who holds life together. Trusting Him may appear risky but the true risk is trying to build without Him”!

2) Don’t let your expectations of forgiveness cloud or shadow your desire for it!

Matthew 18:15-20 – discipline and prayer – this passage isn’t just about holding your brother or sister accountable. It’s about forgiveness and inviting another to repent and recieve the gift of forgiveness.

Matthew 18:21-35- the parable of the forgiving master – used as a comparison to Gods rule and authority. Navigating forgiveness

3) Jesus is custom fit for our forgiveness and can make miracles out of broken pieces.

His forgiveness demands a reponse of forgiveness – first of self and then others.

Dont be like the forgiven servant who couldn’t forgive another

Then Dipstick read Colossians 3:12-17 for us regarding how we carry ourselves in regard to His custom fit purpose for our lives!
