Title: BUILT TO CARRY

…but not everything and not alone.

As men, employees, husbands and fathers we often get praised for how much responsibility we take on and how many burdens we carry for ourselves, in our jobs and in our families. But Jesus never intended for us to carry it all…and especially not alone.

It’s July…the year is half over. Let’s take a mid-year check of our lives and our hearts. How are you doing?

Luke 5:17–26 — The Friends Who Carried the Paralytic

Notice the man was healed not because of his faith, but the faith of the men who carried him. As men we sometimes find it hard to be carried by someone else…we think we have to do it all. I certainly do.

Mr Rogers back/physical issues and the story of this week.

What about you?

• When’s a time someone showed up for you when you couldn’t help yourself?

• What’s something you’ve had to carry lately—physically, emotionally, spiritually?

• Is there something you’re quietly trying to carry alone right now?

• Whose mat are you being called to carry right now—but you’ve been too busy or hesitant?

• Are you willing to let yourself be carried?

• What keeps you from asking for help—or from offering it?
