Why do we Obey God? Is it fear? Of Him? Of the Destination? Because it’s the right thing to do?

Or is it because of our love for Jesus? Are we eagerly, earnestly, seeking after Him in all that we do!

We discussed it’s irrational to believe in Jesus and yet pursue worldly things by worldly means! To use tools and resources that don’t make sense, when you have “the right tool” in front of you!

We read through Romans 12:1-2 and jumped around in Ephesians, 1 Corinthians, 1 Thessalonians, and Colossians to discuss our motives for pursuing Jesus. What does it mean to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God and what does it mean to please him?! How do we achieve a spiritual act of worship? Only by the blood and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We discussed the difference between comformity and transformity. We confirm externally to follow others (worldly); we are transformed by the Holy Spirit, a “new creation”, internally with Jesus!!

So pursue Him, never ceasing! Let’s pick up our crosses and follow Him daily!
