How to escape?

It’s an internal and external battle.

“Too many Christians fight sexual sin ineffectively. They either focus on their internal struggle with little or no concern for the external. Or they focus on their external struggle with little or no concern for the internal. Our battle plan should consist of both. We need our internal affections to drive our external battle against pornography. It’s the only way to slay this beast.”

“Neglecting to dethrone pornography as king over their hearts, it continues to reign, demanding their time, loyalty, and affections.”

External Battle

1. Put up guardrails to protect yourself and your family – internet filters, don’t surf web alone, go to bed with your wife

2. Accountability – friend, pastor, wife

Internal Battle

1. Recognize that pornography is a serious sin that you cannot defeat in your own strength.

2. Repent- choose to turn away again and again

3. Replace our affections for pornography with affection for the Lord. – “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
